I love birds, it is as simple as that. I like to sit on my porch in the morning and listen to them sing their beautiful songs. They have never been anything but pleasant for me at my home. However, at my place of work, they are a terrible nuisance. Granted, we are talking about pigeons at work, which were not a problem at my home. I just have song birds there who respect my sidewalks and car, unlike the pigeons at work. I looked up bird control to see if there was a way I could get rid of them on my own.

There were some tips, but none of them were very humane for the pigeons. Just because I did not like them did not mean I wanted to become their judge and executioner. I just wanted them to relocate somewhere else. Since there was no way for me to do this on my own, I brought in a company that could. Being the manager of the store made this an easy decision because while the decision was personal for me, I knew that it would benefit the other workers and customers too since they had to deal with them too.

The company was able to send someone out quickly, and they did an assessment to determine what sort of deterrent would be best. They also educated me a lot on just how dirty pigeons are! I had read a lot, but they filled in a lot of the blanks for me. I honestly don’t even see how pigeons can be classified in the same category as the birds who sing to me in the mornings. They are like night and day! Anyway, the company put spikes on the edges of the roof as well as other spots to deter the pigeons from using those spots as their roosting places. It has been a huge success too because we hardly ever see a pigeon around now.
